Institutes Overview
Phillips Brickers Institutes™ is an independent research and practice center focused on understanding how institutions, environments, and lived experience shape human life. Our work draws from public health, social sciences, and narrative inquiry to examine the conditions that influence well-being, meaning, and human orientation — with particular application to healthcare systems, Medicaid governance, and the structural conditions producing racial disparities in population health outcomes.
We study how individuals, communities, and institutions navigate change across historical and contemporary landscapes. The Institute provides space for deep inquiry, reflective analysis, and long-view thinking in support of clarity within a complex and evolving world.
